Flashback Friday

Happy Friday! I had chilli dogs and chilli cheese fries for lunch today and somehow did not manage to spill anything on my white top. Got it all over my face though. Anyways! Every week I check out the past charts for this day and post the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, let’s go back to the 1st week of September, 2016. Hope you are in the mood to kickback tonight, Omona. All the songs are pretty mellow and chill this week. I remember absolutely nothing, maybe you remember more.

#3 Bolbbalgan4 “Galaxy”
This was a single off of their first album, and would also be the first of the duo’s many chart toppers. So totally chill and so totally going on my Sunday Morning playlist. A few months ago they used this as the single for their first promotions in Japan. They will be making a comeback in Korea next week.

#2 Jay Park featuring Hoody “Me Like Yuh”
There are two versions of this song, English and Korean, and the Korean version charted high. I like the Korean song better, because of Hoody. I think the song suits her voice better than his lol. Here’s the choreography MV, and I’d forgotten that he danced so well. I don’t think I’ve seen him dance this much since the 2PM days. Was he the lead dancer back then too?

#1 Han Dong Geun “Making A New Ending For This Story”
This was his debut song from 2014, it was a big hit and reached to the top spot. In the spring and summer of 2016, he appeared on King of Masked Singer and Duet Song Festival, and won on both shows a bunch of times, resulting in his songs climbing the charts once again. So here it is again at #1.

Honorable Mentions

#4 Kei & myunDo featuring Bumzu “Y”
This was a collaboration between Lovelyz’s Kei, and rapper myunDo. It is a cover of a song by the group Freestyle, from back in 2004. This was released shortly after myunDo’s appearances on Show Me The Money. Featuring vocals from Bumzu, who in addition to being a solo artist, is a producer who most notably works with Seventeen, among other idol groups.

#9 Ailee “If You”
Oh so pretty! I like this a lot and I’m mad I didn’t know about it until now. I like it when she does the R&B ballad songs like this. This was a digital pre-release single, and she would follow it up a few months later with her “A New Empire” EP. I remember that more. This MV stars Pristin’s pretty Nayoung.
