Comedian Lee Heok-jae, who had been involved in a violent scene at a bar in Incheon, stepped down Wednesday from a KBS radio show he had co-emceed with female entertainer Cho Hyang-gi.
A KBS official said the 37-year-old quit the program due to his involvement in the incident. Cho took charge of the program Wednesday.
It's unclear whether Lee's exit will be permanent or not, according to reports.
"It may be possible for him to return to the program depending on the results of the police investigation. It's too early to comment on that," the official was quoted as saying.
He is suspected of having engaged in an act of violence in Incheon early in the morning of Jan. 13. According to police, Lee resorted to violence at a bar after quarrelling over a hostess. He surrendered himself to police for questioning Tuesday.
