Celebrities express sorrow over Sulli's passing + Sulli's Letter to Fans resurfaces

Goo Hara has posted on Instagram to share photos with her close friend Sulli. She included an open-ended sentence in her caption that translates literally as, “In that world, as Jin Ri wants to do.” Jin Ri is Sulli’s given name (also spelled “Jilli”), and Goo Hara’s sentence could be interpreted as, “In that world, I hope Jin Ri does what she wants to do.”

She also posted a lot of personal photos of her and Sulli (her and Sulli hugging without shirts, her and Sulli sharing a bottle of wine from the same bottle, etc.), accompanied with the caption "My tears can't stop. I still can't believe it. The Sulli in so many photos. Sulli-ya" that she later deleted. (source 1 2)

She then said a farewell to Sulli via a live broadcast on Instagram on October 15.

During the short broadcast, Goo Hara said while in tears, “Sulli, I’m sorry that I can’t go because I’m in Japan. I’m so sorry that this is the only way for me to greet you. Go there and be well as you do what you really want to do. I’m going to do my best and try to live your share too, I’ll work hard. Everyone, I’m okay. Sulli and I were really close, we were like real sisters, and that’s why I wanted to speak to her like this so I turned on the live broadcast. I apologize. I’m sorry. Don’t worry, everyone. Sulli, goodbye.”

Following the police's report of singer/actress Sulli's death, her heartfelt letter to fans that was written over a month ago resurfaced online.

Back on September 5, Sulli took her personal Instagram to share a photo of her handwritten letter. Sulli wrote the letter to her beloved fans, expressing her thanks for their continuous love and support for the past 14 years since her debut.

Sulli's letter reads as follows:

2019/9/5. A rainy day with thunders.
Today is the 14th anniversary of my debut.
I've been so busy these days that I didn't even remember when I debuted.
But there were those who didn't forget and congratulated me first.
They cheered me on for how I've lived in the past, as well as for how I plan to live in the future.

Thank you for allowing me to put down my countless thoughts for a little while and look back on the good days.
Thanks to all of you, I received a lot of help, laughed a lot, and built up the courage.

I get the feeling that life isn't meant to be lived alone.
I have many people by my side, and I made countless, precious memories together.
I also want to become someone who gives off warmth.
I want to say thank you to all of you, and please support me no matter what.

This still doesn’t feel real. I feel so profoundly empty and sad and all I can do is hope that she’s finally free from all the hardship she faced. She didn’t deserve to be treated like that. My heart is broken.
paige_nevaeh 15th-Oct-2019 03:26 pm (UTC)
I’m still reeling. I’m so angry. This poor girl got so much flack for nothing. For being a bit “too much” and outspoken.

I don’t want to make a “thing” about it, and I know we’re all grieving, but it upsets me so much that there’s male idols who have done vile things who are still adored. And this beautiful soul, who was just doing her own thing, trying to find herself in this shitty industry was hounded until the day she died.

I’m sorry for ranting. I’m just sad, man. If anyone else needs to vent - my inbox is open 🙏🏻

I hope her family knows Sulli was so very much loved for exactly who she was.

I hope everyone that’s hurting knows they aren’t alone and I hope we can all come together to mourn and celebrate Sulli.

Honestly still can’t believe she’s gone.

suggestivepeach 15th-Oct-2019 05:37 pm (UTC)

I hope Hara and Taeyeon are okay. I hope everyone was close to her is okay. I don’t know how to feel anymore to be honest. The sadness is gone and replaced with emptiness. I hope Sulli is in a better place now.

psharp10 15th-Oct-2019 06:44 pm (UTC)
hey op, i don't know if it's okay to say this but can we not share the video from hara's ig live? she didn't save the live so i don't think she'd want to have the video spread around. i just personally feel that way ;;

i keep on fluctuating between feeling deep anger and frustration about how unfair and preventable this was to just being unable to accept reality, it doesn't feel real at all
juhli 15th-Oct-2019 07:38 pm (UTC)
Hi dear, i deleted it~!

this post really sets it in for me that this actually happened.

i feel weird for crying about this? it's not like i knew her or was a huge fan, but for some reason this is hitting me really hard.

i wish people could just treat each other kindly; it's not hard.
spewing a constant barrage of hate hurts people and kills people. how can anyone sleep at night knowing their words contributed to someone's death?
lightframes 16th-Oct-2019 10:17 pm (UTC)
I don't think people like that really care about the effect of their words. Or they just pretend it didn't happen.
