So my burnout situation is now this: I'm on a shortened work week for the next two-three months, depending on how the situation develops. So I only work 3 days a week.
I guess I'm glad they're taking it seriously but also I feel awkward about the whole thing...

sorry to hear you feel this way! i hope a shortened week will feel a little better for you but i want to warn you: don't try to do all your work into the 3 days now! that's a massive thing to be VERY careful with! give others some of your workload, don't feel guilty or awkward about it, think about yourself first and only now
take care, i hope things will start looking up for you soon
are you able to do something nice for yourself this weekend? maybe relaxing? cook/eat something nice?

I guess I feel embarrassed I let it get this far and now there's this longass process I gotta get thru to get better again. I'm usually someone who's quite diligent and doesn't get sick.

That is understandable, but it isn't your fault at all, it's something that hasn't happened to you before so how were you supposed to know exactly when it would reach this point? You've got nothing to blame yourself for. If anything, it's very good that you're already taking the steps to getting better, and if your ever reach burn out again in the future (hopefully not!) you'll be better able to recognize the signs.
