Flashback Friday

Happy Friday! This week was exhausting for me, I hope yours was better. Every week I go through the past charts for this day and post the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we’re going back 9 years to the 2nd week of November, 2010.

#3 Beast “Beautiful”

My favorite song from them. I still scream along to it. Legit forever screaming the “nothing better than you you you you you” part lol. This song would debut at the top spot, and others songs from the album would chart high as well. 2010 was a really good year for the group. Here’s their comeback stage at Music Core.

#2 Kara “Jumping”
Almost makes me want to slip on my sneakers and do my 30 minutes of daily weekly cardio. Kara has some of the best songs to work out to. This single was released in both Korea and Japan, and would hit the top ten in both countries. They’re so gorgeous. I miss them so much.

#1 Huh Gak “Always”
This is was his debut single, released about a month after he won his season of Superstar K. The album hit the top ten, and this song went to the top spot. The MV stars Lee Siyoung (who looks very much the same!), Huh Gak himself, and some other dude I don’t recognize, in a love triangle. This MV is so overly dramatic I can’t even lol. Like, not in a good SG Wannabe or Monday Kiz dramatic MV kind of way…all kinds of bad overacting lol.

Honorable Mentions

#4 Girls’ Generation “Hoot”
I’ve always liked the song, but I loved the choreography and styling the most. So I’m really happy that there is a dance version of the music video because I don’t like the original MV that much oops. They are all so cute and I love all the big hair and boots so much. This choreo is still one of my all-time favs.

#10 December “Dazzling Tears”
This is one of the songs from their first full album “A Story To The Sky”, and multiple songs got on the chart. But this title track did the best. I could not find an official MV, but I did find some live stages. I don’t know if the duo is still active and releasing new music, but they recently celebrated their 10th anniversary with a fan meeting just last week.

Jumping remains amazing. Kara have a great discography.

Hoot is one of my favorite SNSD comebacks.

Hoot was my first comeback as a fan, and while I loved most of the girls’ styling (except for that blonde Tiffany had), it wasn’t the best comeback with Tiffany’s injury, Sooyoung’s bloated fillers and the uneven line distribution.

Jumping is great though! One of the few Japanese tracks I listened to from Kara

So many great songs. Hoot really is one of Soshi's best choreos.
