The ultimate truth of the matter is that Omona did nothing wrong. Our members give amazing credit. Better than a lot of other places. But apparently all the comments made here are not completely 100% positive. This is causing much turmoil over at 2od.
I know. I'm shocked too but let me finish. Apparently comments such as "i think 2od lie in a lot of their articles" and "2od is the nastiest skank bitch I've ever met. Do not trust her. She is a fugly slut!" are damaging their reputation and hurting their translators feelings. Ok, I might of made the fugly slut one up. We calmly told them how the internet works, to not take it so seriously and that they receive free advertisement and publicity every time their translations are shared to Omona (btw we have an average of 30k individual visitors world-wide daily). It's a give and take situation. Supporting each other. But they demanded that we remove all 2od posts from omona. Why? Because you're too mean.
The Omona mods were sympathetic to 2od's plight, tried to calm them down and convince them it's good for them to be on Omona. That the good outweighed the bad for them. Until they decided to police the internets and tell us that our visitor traffic is because of their translations.
2od mods said our members were not smart enough to know the "fuckery" that is the Korean media and that we blamed them for misleading articles. They claimed that they could not control our members minds (as we pointed out) but that they could control where their translations went. Also that if our members would not be able to "selfcensor" themselves that they would do it for them.
2od is correct that they cannot control our members minds, but they are dead wrong that they can control where their translations are posted and shared. Once it's released to the internet it's out there. Especially if you are telling your members they can take them out and share.
Our members and their members have not broken any rules by correctly sharing their translations and properly sourcing them. The mods of 2od are not the mods of OmonaTheyDidnt. They do not push the reject/accept buttons. As long as we are not breaking rules, there should be no reason for us to yank their translations from our community.
Not nice comments isn't a strong enough argument.
So in the end we decided the only thing to do is leave it up to the members of Omona. We want you to have the final word. Vote in an all important poll....
Keep accepting 2oneday posts?
I care not for 2oneday's...
Usually Omona get's love letters from other sites thanking us for sharing their information and bringing traffic to their page. We are happy to do it!
The mods would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone here at omona that we have a lovely translation community called
Finally, no dramatic post is complete without hearing from a netizen or two. So let's keep the tradition going.
