#3 T-ara “Cry Cry”
A big hit for the group, it was the follow up to “Roly-Poly” and the lead single for the group’s “Black Eyes” EP. The song would peak at the top spot, while the album would hit #2. The success would lead to a repackaged album two months later, with even more hits for the group. Here is their stage at SBS Gayo.
#2 Troublemaker “Trouble Maker”
Cube Entertainment’s unit duo of 4Minute’s Hyuna and BEAST’s Hyunseung take the #2 spot this week. And the only man in the post this week too. This was their debut song, and would debut at the top spot. The 4 song EP would peak at the #2 as well. Here’s the duo live at MAMA.
#1 IU “You & I”
2011 was a fantastic year for her, and she would end it with “You & I”. This was a huge hit for her, and is her biggest selling song. This was the lead single for her album “Last Fantasy”, which was also a massive commercial and critical success. The total number of digital sales for the album would hit 10 million in just 2 weeks. Here’s the performance MV for the song.
#5 Apink “My My”
This was the lead single from their EP “Snow Pink”, and the last song they released in their rookie year. And out of the three singles, this one did the best. I don’t remember this, but it feels like an old school girl group song. You know what I mean? Like 1st or early 2nd generation. Even the choreography, it’s all so sweet and feels so familiar.
#9 Wonder Girls “Be My Baby”
This is my favorite Wonder Girls song. I was so obsessed with it back then. This was the lead single for the group’s 3rd full album, “Wonder World”. I believe this was the group’s only release in 2011? The song would stay in the top ten for weeks, and would sell almost 4 million digitally. Here's their comeback stage at Music Bank. Fanchants sound so good!
