SF9's Dawon to make small screen debut with "Doom at Your Service"
Lee Sang-hyuk, better known as Dawon of K-pop boy band SF9, will be making his small screen debut in tvN's new series "Doom at Your Service," set to air in the coming months.
The singer's agency FNC Entertainment announced Tuesday that Dawon has taken his first role in a TV series.
"I'm thankful for this opportunity to star in a TV series. At the same time, I feel nervous and worried," Dawon said through the agency. "I have researched and studied the works of experienced actors to prepare for my role. As I am taking a challenge in a new field, I will do my best to make it entertaining."
The fantasy drama revolves around the supernatural creature Myeol Mang (Seo In-guk) in the world of gods ― who is known as Kim Sa-ram on Earth. Born between light and darkness, Myeol Mang's actions bring destruction to people's lives.
One day, web novel company editor Tak Dong-kyeong (Park Bo-young) encounters him and decides to sign a 100-day contract with him ― even though she knows that the deal could well endanger her life.
Dawon will play Tak Sun-kyung, brother of Dong-kyeong.
Led by Kwon Young-il, whose previous work is the family drama "My Unfamiliar Family," the series is written by Lim Meari, who is known for the romantic comedy series "The Beauty Inside."
The singer debuted as a member of the nine-member group SF9 in 2016 with the album "Feeling Sensation." The group has won several awards for its songs, including "Rising Star of the Year" at the Mnet Asian Music Awards in 2018.
SF9 is set to appear in Mnet's K-pop survival show "Kingdom: Legendary War," in which the contestants compete to be named the best performing male artists.
Doyeon will be playing a young Jun Ji Hyun, which sounds like good casting. They are both so goregous!
