And it's up to us to find those hidden gems, that might otherwise be burried under countless songs.
Every month I'll try to look back on girl group and female soloist release (I don't have time to waste on boys) and try to find out the song that should have been "IT" but was overlooked.
What's my expertise on this?
It's just fun & games but to paraphrase the great Eugene Lee Yang
Chung Ha - Querencia
I think we can all agree "Stay tonight" was it. Sadly, I try to exclude pre-release since they already get the attention they deserve. But let it be known: "Stay tonight" >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I'm not a fan of the album, I actualy think the pre-release are better than any of the new song (including the TT). I had to listen to the album several times, it's just not that memorable: fillers, fillers everywhere.
But we have to make a choice, so I would have picked "Lemon". It's not TT material, it doesn't have the oumph we're used to, but it has Colde.
Youra - Gaussian
ISHB: "AIRPLANE MODE"
I think the whole album is pretty amazing. If you love indie, you're gonna love this.
I personally love the beat in "Airplane mode", it's groovy enough for a TT, but it's still a very "indie" track, so it doesn't lose its identity.
KEEMBO - Scandal
This one is a bit tricky since a lot of the song were already released.
You could say "Inside" is the best choice by default.
"Voodoo" should have gotten the MV.
The raw emotion of "Thank you, anyway" makes me tear up...
Sunmi - Tail
ICHB: "What the flower"
Let's be real, I just want an excuse to include Sunmi in this.
And I do love a good jazzy sound.
