Omona Original: Best K-Pop Deep Cuts from April - June 2021

Previous Post: January to March 2021

APRIL

ASTRO - BUTTERFLY EFFECT

Album: All Yours (Full Album)
Release Date: April 5, 2021
Lead Single: One

NU'EST - DRESS

Album: Romanticize (Full Album)
Release Date: April 19, 2021
Lead Single: Inside Out

Ren's solo (Rocket Rocket) is also a fantastic, fun, and energy filled listen. Nu'est is always dependable and this is a great summer album. You might think this pick in particular is boring and generic for the first 10 seconds but after those first 10 seconds pass you’re gonna go “oh?” and you’ll be hooked by the chorus. The whole album is really solid and the solo tracks play to their strengths and personalities.

MAY

None - it was a boring month for Kpop.

JUNE

BRAVE GIRLS - FEVER

Album: Summer Queen (EP/ Mini Album)
Release Date: June 17, 2021
Lead Single: Chi Mat Ba Ram

SEVENTEEN - WAVE

Album: Your Choice (EP/ Mini Album)
Release Date: June 18, 2021
Lead Single: Ready to Love

BONUS:

Best Mini Album:

Yukika - Time About (Released April 7, 2021)

This one didn’t make the regular list because I think the title track, Insomnia, is the best song on the EP – but the whole thing is so cohesive and enjoyable and nice from start to finis It’s a real standout this year for me - definitely hit up Spotify and give the whole thing a listen!

Overlooked and Under-appreciated

Hoshi – Spider (Released April 2, 2021)

This did NOT get the love it deserved. This is fantastic.
