And They Were Roommates ft. We Live In A Society, the kdrama

the tonal shifts throughout the drama are throwing me off, do we need the comedic moments really? there's a lot of different sub plots going on, whereas I think a focus on the characters themselves is more interesting (and it does seem like that's at least one of the carrying themes here)

my short review:

July 21 2021, 19:22:19 UTC 4 days ago Edited:  July 21 2021, 20:15:05 UTC

Honestly I've given up on the trials and only consider them as pure entertainment and nothing else, it's too ridiculous to be considered part of the justice system.

I'm only watching this show for Kang Yo Han, I love him and his cunning. Each time his enemies think they've had him, he finds a way to turn the situation to his advantage and I live for that.

As for the other characters, they are either irritating, ridiculous, stupid or boring.
I don't understand how anyone can be tricked by Jung Sun-A, she's so fake and creepy.

And Gaon? I'm disappointed in him. I thought he was going to be on Yo Han's side but nope, he's still suspicious of him (of what, I'm not entirely sure) and even went as far as using his niece :s.
And seriously how long does he plan on staying with them? I swear I kept saying 'You're still there??!!!' during the last episode.

I just want to watch Yo Han destroy the Foundation and all the other players... and I want to know why Gaon looks like the older brother, I thought he was his son but I guess not?
I got confused over who I should be rooting for lol, Yohan was seemingly a bad guy in the beginning in Gaon's eyes and he's still sus about him, but then he seems to be making all the right moves anyways. He also keeps flipping between high and mighty and broken and vulnerable and I'm not sure what to think of it.

Not sure what to make of Gaon either at this point, I feel like they're gonna be flipping his character or something

Everyone outside Yohan x Gaon + family is such a caricature it's hard to take them seriously lol
I'm guessing Yohan wants to punish those who were there during the fire and I'm all for it, even if it means breaking some laws to be honest.
His duality (high&mighty vs broken/vulnerable as you said) is exactly what makes him endearing to me (that and Jisung with his hair down is just too yummy for my poor heart lol).

As for Gaon, I'm a bit afraid of what the writers will make of him, I really don't want him as Yohan's enemy or whatever, it's too frustrating to have the two main characters oppose each other for no good reason.

The award for the most ridiculous protagonist goes to the President! When he was filming himself, I felt so much second hand embarrassment and kept thinking who would elect someone like that?! But then I remembered that the US elected Trump so... ^^'

It's not the drama of the year but I am awaiting the new episodes (and it's much better than Voice 4 which is the only other currently airing drama I'm watching)
