Flashback Friday

Wassup party people. Is anyone else getting a brain fart and referring to “Squid Game” to “squid ink”? Because that is what I have been legit doing for the past couple of weeks. I think I need to eat some pasta. Every week I go through the past charts for this day in the week and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we are going back to the 2nd week in October, 2010. I don’t remember too much from this week, maybe you remember more.

#3 Sung Si Kyung & IU “It’s You”
This was the first collaboration between the two singers. It was a bonus track on his album, “It’s You”. It was a huge hit, and is still being covered by singers today. There is no music video for this track, but the two of them have performed it a lot live. Mostly at his concerts, judging by all the fancams. But here is a televised performance. I can’t stop looking at IU’s hemline. Like, it looks like they wanted to shorten the dress, but like they just tucked it in and looks so lumpy and blah I’m annoyed now.

#2 Miss A “Breathe”
I was so obsessed with this song back then! It’s probably still one of top favorite songs from the group. This was their follow up song to their debut, released just a few months before. The song would peak at the #2 spot. Here’s a stage with extended dance breaks. I haven’t seen a stage performance in so long. The choreo feels like a fun workout!

#1 Supreme Team “Then Then Then”
This was one of the singles from highly successful EP “Ames Room”. The EP was a collaboration between the duo and Brown Eyed Soul’s Youngjun. Two out of the three songs on the EP peaked at the top spot. But I don’t remember this song or era at all.

Honorable Mentions

#4 Beast “Breath”

Nothing about this era is familiar to me. This was the follow up to “Shock” that was released earlier that year, and the lead single from their “Mastermind” EP. The album would peak at #2, while the song itself would top at #4. I think this was their only 2010 release that I don’t remember. Here’s a Music Core stage. Everything about it screams 2010 and I love it lol! The choreography! The outfits! The hair! Fanchants sound so good too!

#8 2NE1 “Can’t Nobody”
I always forget this song until I see/hear it. Then I remember it all. Bommie’s red hair era! The only thing better was Bommie’s orange hair era. I think I have a gif of her with the hair somewhere. Anyway! This was one of the four singles that the group promoted their first full album “To Anyone” with. This song would peak at #2, and would win 7 music show trophies. “To Anyone” would win big at the year end shows, including 3 AOTY awards.
