The two groups who are simultaneously targeting Korea and China, EXO-K and EXO-M, have started two storms.
The group active domestically, EXO-K, recorded first place on music sales charts, as well as real-time Hanteo aggregate charts, with the release of their first mini-album MAMA.
Following EXO-K, EXO-M also rose to the #2 rank on the real-time charts, using their unique sound as a way to win the interest of fans both domestically and internationally.
In addition, EXO-M’s music video for their title track “MAMA,” released on April 8, topped Chinese music video streaming sites for two weeks consecutively.
The two groups’ simultaneous debut attracted the attention of fans, and coupled with the work of producer Yoo Youngjin, the Gregorian chants, and the use of a full orchestra, EXO-K and EXO-M have unique sounds that have captured fans’ interest. In addition, the sharp synths, guitar riffs, and powerful shouting add to the intense feeling of the title song.
