KBS inflated WG's broadcasting score and let them win
Receipts? WG does not need anyone to "let" them win. If anything, them losing to Infinite on Mnet + how they did not win at all on Music Bank for Be My Baby...heh, no favoritism from anyone spotted here.

WG were on a shit ton of shows last week. Not just the 4 usual shows (M! Countdown, Music Bank, Music Core, Inkigayo) but also MTV The Show, Love Request, Music Show Champion and Beautiful Concert...AND radio shows. Big Bang is not promoting, period. The difference between the two is egregiously obvious; no "inflation" conspiracies needed.

that was on mnet tho. mnet's broadcasting score is based on broadcasting on mnet. so how does that relate to the broadcast points they get on kbs which only counts kbs appearances?

M! Countdown counts their broadcast points based on the artist's appearance on their (Mnet)'s show, in which WG only had 25pts since it was their comeback week and hence the first time WG had been on M Countdown this promo round. If I'm not wrong KBS considers a wider range of activities and shows which is why WG was higher, not to mention that was WG's second appearance on Music Bank (they had come back the week earlier). The main sinker was fan votes (WG's 4% to Infinite's 33%) and SMS votes (WG's 11% to Infinite's 88%).

The only math I am following is that presented by KBS here. It was incredibly close, yes, but the numbers aren't lying. I don't know where you got the 9682/5998 numbers*, but those were not the ones used for calculating the score...and therefore neither here nor there.

I'm a WG fanatic but I'm also a stats nerd and just a believer in the truth, man. I was genuinely curious about how Infinite won and when someone took the time to explain it to me all was clear and well. You're gonna have to point me to some articles or sources that share your suspicion of inflation and do some tabulating based on appearances and sales disparity to have me take it seriously. It's an opinion, yes, but far from a validated one otherwise.

*ETA: Ok, I see you added the digital and phys sales. My bad there. Still, calling foul play in the realm of inflation in the one score where the competition beat out your fave...yeah, other people are gonna have to start agreeing before I can attempt to.

And if Mnet didn't place so much importance in a voting system that could be totally bombarded willy-nilly, WG would've won. But these people get to decide how they want to give their award, and if they want broadcasting and fan votes to be a big deal, I'm fine with that. I don't feel comfortable saying Inspirits autorobot spammed the Mnet poll because I don't know they did that. Likewise, deciding someone fudged the broadcast numbers for a group based on what I've observed only is also out of my confidence zone. Like someone said down there, Sistar managed to get 9000 points, so who knows what is possible? I respect your opinion but personally I wouldn't assert someone is cheating unless I had the evidence at hand.

lol i don't like this phrase but i guess it's an issue of "hate the game, not the player" for you. i understand where you're coming from but there's more at play than just physical and digital sales for all the music shows. big bang did (initially) do better on the charts compared to wonder girls but there are more factors than sales that help you win on these shows.

you're seriously making a big deal out of nothing though. during 4minute vs sistar week, 4minute got 7k broadcasting points while sistar got 9.5k. wonder girls didn't even pass 5k. of course wonder girls is going to get more broadcasting points than big bang since they're actively promoting and appearing on variety shows while big bang isn't. they had almost equal digital sales scores, and whereas big bang had more physical album points, wonder girls made up for it with broadcasting points. i'm not seeing the foul play here.
